Zach Trapheus was born in 2079 to Rachael and Ian Trapheus, however, he didn't get to spend much time with them before they were tragically pulled apart. Prior to his birth, Rachael and Ian had volunteered to go on the Starmigrator the Nebula, a ship designed to carry people across the galaxy on their search for a new habitable planet. No one under the age of 5 was allowed on the Nebula at the time. This rule also held with the Nebula's sister ship the Solution. The only exception to this rule was if said under 5-year-old was born on board the Nebula or Solution. Zach was meant to be born on board the Nebula, 3 months after it launched. However, the Nebula's launch was delayed by 9 months due to a leak in her nuclear reactor. Due to this, Zach had to be left behind with Rachael's sister Audrey Trapheus. Zach spent the first four years of his life living in Biodome Beta and occasionally making calls to his parents while they were on the Nebula. Unfortunately, close to Zach's fifth birthday, The Nebula left Earth's communication range, and went radio silent. Zach attended multiple schools throughout his next 14 years. During that time, he became obsessed with the Artificial Intelligence that ran the world, also known as Digiverse 107. Zach wrote multiple papers and reports on Digiverse through middle and high school, and these papers attracted both the attention of school bullies, and of New Stanford University. Zach was offered a scholarship and immediately accepted, a decision that would change the course of not only his own life, but the trajectory of the human race, forever.
